Ruth Richerson Consulting (RRC) is an equity oriented consulting firm that provides nonprofit leaders an option to grow their fundraising without growing their staff. Our clients are new and growing nonprofits committed to building a more just and sustainable world.
We intentionally align our practices as a small business with our clients’ focus on equity, and seek to live into values of diversity, equity, inclusion and environmental sustainability.

Our Approach: Mission before money.
We recognize that donating money often gives donors outsized power and influence over an organization’s mission, plans and programs. Adding to this, the fundraising profession has historically urged organizations to be “donor centric”, which has tipped the power dynamic even further towards donors’ preferences and goals. We believe fundraising at its best creates the conditions for mutually beneficial relationships around a shared mission. To that end, we strive to help our clients build true partnerships with their donors and to own their expertise, voice and power in their funding relationships.

RRC partners exclusively with clients that have an explicit focus on and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. In 2021, fifty percent of the organizations we served were led by people of color, a ratio we strive to maintain.
Our Founder’s personal commitments: To walk the walk and keep growing.
As a white, college educated person, Ruth recognizes the privilege and power she was born into. She pledges to grow as an anti-racist through trainings, readings, and mentorship. As important, Ruth recognizes that we face a climate emergency that threatens the livable world. She seeks to act in sustainable ways as a small business owner, mom and human being.
