Values
Ruth Richerson Consulting (RRC) works with new and growing organizations that are building a more just and sustainable world.
I intentionally align my business practices with the values my clients champion—centering equity, inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
I also believe in working where I can have the most impact, and only take on work when I’m confident I can add real value.
I bring a low-ego, mission-driven approach, grounded in deep respect for the leaders I partner with.
Here’s a bit more about my approach:
Mission first.
Donating money often gives donors outsized power and influence. Adding to this, the fundraising profession has historically urged organizations to be “donor centric”, which has tipped the power dynamic even further towards donors’ preferences and goals. I believe fundraising at its best creates the conditions for mutually beneficial relationships around a shared mission. To that end, I strive to help my clients build true partnerships with their donors and to own their expertise, voice and power in their funding relationships.
Strengths based.
Over the course of my career, I’ve seen many ways to succeed with fundraising. You don’t have to be an extrovert. You don’t have to know a billionaire. You do have to find an approach that feels comfortable and authentic to you. My goal is to help you uncover your unique fundraising style, and to build a fundraising strategy that leverages your strengths.
All In.
I’m here to handle much of the behind-the-scenes work of fundraising so you can spend your time on high-ROI activities. Time and again, clients tell me they value that I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty—I don’t just advise, I roll up my sleeves and help get the work done.
